You are focused on your career and don’t mind it interfering with your other plans. You understand Investment Banking is about making money and working hard and being a team player. You grew up on a diet of Liars Poker and Barbarians at the gate and wanting to work at Goldman Sachs and nothing is going to stand in your way.
Mostly B’s, some C’s and one A- You’re fine with the trade offs that come with career in finance. You understand that as an analyst work life balance will be take a hit but it gets better the more senior you get. You appreciate that Investment Banking has a rigid hierarchy and are willing to be a team player. You might not live for Excel and numbers, but you understand what a spinner is and are not afraid to use it.
Mostly A’s – Investment Banking is not for you. You want to spend time with friends and family and don’t think it’s necessary to give that up for your career. You like you weekends and believe that you work to live rather than live to work. Numbers tend to scare you and you prefer to choose work you like and eschew hierarchy.
